There is no prize for finishing the afternoon early.
Yet we rush it.
Lately I try the opposite. I stay.
I let the glass sit half-finished. I let the shadow move across the table. I let the person across from me say the second, slower version of what they meant.
Almost everything good I remember happened in the extra ten minutes.
So here is the invitation: today, stay a little longer somewhere. Do not explain it to anyone.
