Some of the best rooms I have ever heard music in were not designed for music.
A stairwell in Barcelona. An underground in Cuba. A parking lot at dusk. OK, also the 1001 basement at Brick Lane :)
What they share is immensity.
Sound needs somewhere to go.
It needs some space and people to lengthen inside.
